Dr. M. Durairaaj is qualified with a M. Sc in Chemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Trichy, an M. Tech in Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology, IIT, Delhi and a Ph. D in Molecular Microbiology followed by a PDF in Tumor Immunology from the University of Alberta, Canada. Upon completion of his studies, he joined Orchid Pharma to spearhead the development of enzymatic technologies for the manufacture of APIs and intermediates. With a strong foundation in molecular Biology, fermentation Engineering, and industrial  bioprocess development, he contributed significantly to advancing eco-friendly routes for APIs, intermediates and nutraceuticals. He has several domestic and international patents to his credit. As the founder and driving force behind Micha Life Sciences Private Limited, he has positioned the company as a rising player in the Indian biotech landscape—especially in sustainable biocatalytic platforms. His work reflects a broader mission: integrating cutting-edge science with practical industrial impact, and shaping a future where biotechnology drives sustainable global progress.
